You may have heard of the six figure blogger, or maybe you are in the hunt for a six figure income in your career. I’m the six figure investor. The fact is, anyone can accumulate 100K in investments or more if given enough contributions, gains and time. I started this blog to share information, strategy and ideas with others. I spend many hours each day reading, researching, and analyzing investments.

Origins Of My Investing Strategy

Back in 1999, I was a young investor entranced with the fast and hot trades of the day in Internet and technology companies. They were exciting. I remember days when stocks would go up 20% simply on a whisper or rumor about the company launching and internet site or collaboration. We all know how that ended and I was lucky to get out with my shirt still on.

I felt disillusioned. I believed that the stock market was a casino, and when everything went down the tubes a lot of people never went back. Kind of like now, when you can buy investment homes that will make you money from day one, yet, no one bids on them for months.

The one thing I fell back on was I had my personal finances straightened out. I had extra cash available that I could use to invest. My problem was that I didn’t know how to invest. There are many different ways to succeed in investing, the key is to find the strategy that works for you and stick with it.

The more I researched investing, the clearer it became to me that what would normally be called ‘value’ investing, or ‘dividend’ investing was the strategy that I was looking for. One of the lesser known benefits of this strategy is that you can make good income to add to or replace your other income.

Unlike most investing strategies, the goal isn’t to create the largest portfolio but to create a portfolio that earns the most money and grows it the quickest. This is a balancing act because you want to do both at the same time. In typical cases, you usually focus on one of these goals and not both.

The end game of this strategy is to create an income stream that is sustainable and growing every year. Once you create an income stream that replicates your income, you have achieved financial freedom. And all along the way you are strengthening your balance sheet.
